Identity verification (KYC) is an essential step to activate your Vancelian account and access all the features of the application.
It is carried out directly from the mobile application in a few guided steps.
Which identity documents are accepted?
The following documents are accepted for identity verification:
- Passport
- Identity card
- Driving licence (card format only)
- Residence permit issued by a country of the European Economic Area
Please note that:
- The identity document must be valid and include an expiration date
- Expired documents or documents without an expiration date cannot be accepted
- For reference, please consult this article to check where the Vancelian app is available
How to start identity verification in the application?
- From the main page of the application, click on Confirm your identity
- You will be taken to a screen showing the steps required to complete identity verification
- Select Start
- Indicate the issuing country of your document
- Choose the type of document to use: passport, residence permit, identity card or driving licence
- Follow the instructions displayed by our partner throughout the process
The application will request permission to access your camera and microphone, please allow these to proceed.
Depending on the selected document, you may be asked to scan both the front and back.
Why do I need to take a selfie?
Once the document scan is complete, you will be asked to take a selfie and/or a video.
This step confirms that you are the person appearing on your identity document.
Before submitting, make sure that the photos and video follow all instructions (quality, lighting, framing).
How long does the verification take?
In most cases, the verification result appears almost immediately.
However, if a manual review is required, the process may take up to 3 working days.
You will receive an in-app notification and an email as soon as the verification is completed.
Please note that customer support cannot fast-track or complete these verifications.
If your verification remains stuck beyond this timeframe, we invite you to consult this article:
